About Us
Alfred Rubinoff always dreamed of building and helping others build homes.
When he graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute’s (now Ryerson University) Architectural Technology program in 1953, he moved to North Bay with a fellow graduate to fulfill his dream. When tragic events led to his business partner’s death, Alfred moved back to the Greater Toronto Area to pursue design work. Over the next few years he worked with multiple firms, including W.J. Yager, and did some freelancing work as well.
Over time Alfred decided to pursue starting his own business, seeking to provide home buyers and renovators with exceptional design and drafting services.
His vision led to the founding and incorporation of Alfred Rubinoff Limited in 1971, an architectural design office specializing in permit drawings for the construction of homes in subdivisions and infill developments.
Alfred’s son, Glenn, grew up learning from his father and perfecting his craft. Glenn succeeded his father and took over the family business in 1997. Glenn re-positioned the firm by modernizing the name to Rubinoff Design Group in 2000, and expanding the company’s scope of services offered by utilizing the latest technologies available in the industry.
